Serbia 5-0 Romania



Serbia beat Romania 5-0 to earn automatic qualification for the 2010 World Cup South Africa™ as unassailable leaders of European qualifying Group 7. 

Serbia took a first-half lead through Nikola Zigic in the 37th minute and moved up a gear in the second half to put four more goals past the Romanians. 

Marko Pantelic doubled their lead in the 50th minute, Zdravko Kuzmanovic made it 3-0 on 78 minutes and then Milan Jovanovic grabbed a brace in the 86th and 90th minutes. 

It will be the first time the country will compete at a FIFA World Cup™ finals under the name Serbia, having participated as Serbia-Montenegro in 2006.
