Sweden - Denmark

Bohemians who conceded 7 goals from past 15 games, previous night from "without seven players" St.Patrik's conceded three times!? I'm speechless.

.

Lars Lagerback’s lads started this qualification campaign with a clear intention to improve the impression from Euro 2008. But just a single win and three draws (all 0-0) are enough recently just for fifth place with big seven points less (and a game less) than a leader, today’s opponent, Denmark. Sweden has to start collecting the points to involve in the fight for first two places. Squad scored just two times in four games (both times against Hungary, 2-1) and good news for Lagerback is he’ll have best team available, including Ibrahimovic and Larsson. Biggest problem for them is lack of midfield, strikers are usually cut from the play and hardly make the goal opportunities. Players use every opportunity to underline excellent dressing room atmosphere and their determination to qualify for South Africa. Anders Svensson has some slight injury problems, but he’s expected to play. No other worries for Lagerback.

The visitors surprisingly hold the top of group 1. After the qualifying opener, game in Hungary, not convincing performance and a goalless draw, nobody could predict their raising. But, Denmark tight four consecutive wins and announce their candidacy for top two spots. But, the fact is two of that four wins were against Malta and Albania is beaten at home. The fourth win was in Portugal, on paper, the main candidate for the place number one. During the whole game, Danish were inferior, but with the goals in the game finish, they made a first class surprise and noticed three points. Denmark is in very good position before today’s match and would be more than satisfied with one point. But, that will be hard to achieve. Morten Olsen has a lots of problems with the injuries. Martin Laursen, very important player in the defence line has retired after the injury. Injury of second central defender, Per Krøldrup, made a big problem. Instead these two, Kjær and Møller Christensen are expected to play. Daniel Jensen (midfielder), Leon Andreasen (midfielder) and Jon Dahl Tomasson (forward) are also injured. So, injury list clearly dedicate Denmark’s intention on counter-attacks.

Sweden has a complete and fully motivated squad. I don’t expect great performance from them, but duo Ibrahimovic-Larsson have a big advantage against young and inexperienced Denmark’s defence. Some corner, or free-kick can be decisive. Visitors will try to defend, but I think the draw on a half-time is the best they can achieve (think about gamble ht/ft x-1). William Hill offers 2.05. Home win.

And I'm going for our lads against Austria. Home handicap win.
