At this point of time, we can score only by accident, like we did in N.Ireland (decent display though). In last 5 (including friendlies) scored a total of three goals. Yeah, it’s only Faroe Islands, but players certainly feel some fatigue from the trip and they already calculated three points from this game. I don’t expect more than 10.000 people which could be additionally uninspiring for the players. Islanders will park the bus, they held Italians on 0-1.  In last three occasions we didn’t defeat them by more than three. Not so strong case and small bet. Additionally, I’ve noticed correct score 0-0 is at 40.00 (Unibet). Worth a micro stake. In our mentality is to spoil everything when literally no one expects.

Serbia – Estonia, why it doesn't worth at 1.15

Well, I wouldn’t write too much about reasons for us. Big gap in quality and home soil. That should be more than enough for Estonians.

Against…  First, Serbia have new national team coach, Vladimir Petrovic, last year Crvena Zvezda’s. Under him, we (Zvezda) were playing the ugliest football that I (we) have ever seen. He invited formation with 3 defensive midfielders all together in the team! Defensive football with main target not to concede. More shocking,  that was from one of two best clubs in the country who used to play against very defensive sides.  I’m really afraid he’ll try the same in national team. He announced we’ll play with just one striker, Zigic, who is out of Birmingham team and out of shape. Wingers, Krasic (in a great shape at Juve) and Jovanovic (same as Zigic), and again 3 central midfielders. Stankovic is sure, for other 2 spots we have 3 players, Kacar, Kuzmanovic and Ninkovic. None of them is natural attacking midfielder (Kacar can play it though). For me, it looks like too much caution for Estonia that could lead to problems (we can’t score and become nervous, problems). Ex coach, Radomir Antic, announced yesterday he’ll suit Serbian football association for 2 mill euros for cancelling his contract. Very nice timing from him.

Goalkeeper Stojkovic, before few seasons Crvena Zvezda’s captain, made a shocking move and signed for big rivals – Partizan. Death threats to him are common things these days in Serbia. His appearance will certainly split the crowds which usually has bad impact on all players. Moving the game on Partizan’s stadium helps, however.

I would never bet against my own team and hope I’m wrong, but if I’m a foreigner I’d see X2 @ 5.00 (Bwin) as a nice little gamble. Under at 2.63 (888sport) also looks tempting and maybe I’ll take it hoping for 1-0, 2-0 win.

Serbia 4-3 Cameroon Hope you followed

Serbia twice came from a goal down to earn its first victory in World Cup warmup games with a 4-3 win on Saturday over a Cameroon side playing without its captain Samuel Eto'o.
Achille Webo headed Cameroon into fifth minute lead and then repeated the feat in the 20th, shortly after midfielder Milos Krasic had briefly equalized for Serbia - pouncing on a ball that bounced off Cameroon goalkeeper Souleymanou Hamidouin.
Krasic then provided the pass for Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic to make it 2-2 with a powerful shot in the 25th minute.
Serbia went in front when Nenad Milijas converted a 42nd penalty and Marko Pantelic added Serbia's fourth in first-half stoppage time.
Cameroon was dominant in the second half and Eric Choupo-Moting scored Cameroon's third in the 67th, nodding in a cross from Geremi.
Eto'o missed the match after he was red-carded in the first half of a 3-1 friendly defeat by Portugal on Tuesday.
Serbia was missing Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United, who had a fever.
Eto'o joined the Cameroon squad after winning the Champions League title with Inter Milan.
He had threatened to sit out the World Cup after being criticized by former Cameroon great Roger Milla, who rebuked the striker for failing to reproduce his club form with the national team.
Cameroon, which in 1990 reached the World Cup quarterfinals, plays Japan, Denmark and the Netherlands in Group E in South Africa.
Serbia faces Germany, Australia and Ghana in Group D.

Northern Ireland - Serbia

Northern Ireland will miss another big competition. And while in previous campaign as underdogs were very close, this qualifiers entered with bigger ambitions but reached only fourth place in group. They gain English style of play characterized with fighting spirit, national coach has a decent squad, but simply lack in quality when they face some of the best European teams (if we can say so for Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic or Poland). Two best players are young Man.Utd. star Jonny Evans and Sunderland’s striker David Healy. Healy didn’t repeat the performances from campaign for EURO when he was the best European goal scorer and probably because the lack of first team play at Stadium of Light scored only one goal in ten group games. Small amount of goals also was the main reason for recent national team failure as they didn’t score in two last and decisive games (Slovakia 0-2 at home and Czech Republic 0-0 away). However, coach Nigel Worthington has called the best available players. Only missings will be Coventry midfielder Sammy Clingan and striker from Burnley Martin Paterson. Northern Ireland never lack in motivation and I expect their decent display.

 

Serbia passed very strong group consisted of France, Romania, Austria, Lithuania and Faroe Islands. With seven wins and 22 points on the balance, booked the ticket for the final countdown in South Africa and left France short handed. New national team coach, Radomir Antic has brought collective play and fighting spirit that were never characteristics of Serbia’s games. With excellent tactical leadership and squad based on Vidic and Ivanovic in defense line, Stankovic, Krasic and Jovanovic in midfield and Zigic and Pantelic in attack, team surprised announced group favorites France, Romania and whole European audience reaching the first place in group. Second of two defeats (first was in Paris 1-2), Serbia faced in last round in Lithuania 1-2. Cold weather and freezing rain in Vilnius, extremely bad pitch and two penalty kicks for the opponent were the main reasons for defeat that took off the celebration smiles. So, Serbs traveled to Belfast with intention to return a good mood. Antic can not count on key midfielder Dejan Stankovic, regular striker Marko Pantelic and defender from the bench Ivica Dragutinovic. He’ll mix the cards and try some tactical solutions, but anyway team that will start the game at Windsor Park will be more than competitive.

 

Northern Ireland have a decent squad, but will face the stronger opponent than they used to play against. Although they’ll play at home and will have fans’ support, clear advantage is on visitors’ side. Serbia  will be very serious, friendly games are important for self confidence and I expect their attacking attitude and win. Probably without a goal conceded. Best odd is at Betfair, 2.35.
