Only thing that worries me here is Spain's struggling to score against hard defending sides.Sometimes they look a little bit slow and passing too much...On the other hand,importance of this game calls on seriousness and I think they'll make a strong start of the game and score very early.On the other hand,Paraguay is hard working side but definitely lacks in creativity and can not see them scoring tonight.Maybe better bet is Spain to win to nil,but personally don't like that kind of a bet and choose asian handicap.

Oliver Bierhoff says Germany will find it harder to beat Argentina in the World Cup quarter-final than they did to overcome England in the last 16.
Before the tournament began, England were rated more likely than Argentina to lift the coveted trophy.
But Germany general manager Bierhoff said: "It is not going to be easy on Saturday because Argentina are a stronger side than England.
"There were some obvious English weaknesses that had all been there in the group stages.
"Argentina are much more powerful and stronger. They have very few weaknesses - although there must be some."

Huh Jung-moo has resigned as coach of South Korea following their 2-1 defeat by Uruguay in the last 16 at the World Cup.
Under Huh Jung-moo the team advanced out of the group stage for the first time on foreign soil but the coach was eager to "recharge". 
"There are many great and capable ... leaders in our football community. I think they should be given a chance to coach the national team," said Huh Jung-moo. 
"What I felt during the World Cup tournament is that the global football powerhouses, especially the South American teams, performed well and were too much for us." 

Former Argentina coaches Marcelo Bielsa and Jose Pekerman head Japan's wish-list to take over from Takeshi Okada, according to the Japanese press.
Okada is set to retire to a life of writing poetry and farming after the Blue Samurai were knocked out of the World Cup in the last 16.
"I want to get away from soccer," Okada told Japanese television following their penalty shootout loss to Paraguay.
"Even if I was offered a new contract. It won't happen so let's not talk about it."

Meanwhile, Japan defender Yuichi Komano is set to get a medal, even though his missed penalty against Paraguay led to the country's World Cup exit in the last 16.
The governor of Komano's native Wakayama prefecture, Yoshinobu Nisaka, told Japanese media he wanted to give Komano a medal for his efforts in South Africa. 
"We would like to present Komano with a medal for giving people such dreams and emotions," said Nisaka. 

New Zealand coach Ricki Herbert was guarded about his future when he arrived home on Friday after steering his team to an unbeaten World Cup campaign.
Although New Zealand failed to progress beyond the first round of the tournament, the team surpassed expectations.
Herbert is reported to have received approaches from clubs in Europe, Asia and the Middle East but would only say there were "a few things" in the air.
He said he was immediately returning to his job as coach of New Zealand's only professional team, the Wellington Phoenix, and expected to have talks about his future career with Football New Zealand.

Japan is a side without a minimum of creativity.Major threats are Honda and free kicks.I'm not at least impressed with their defense line as well.Only reasons is they're here are mentioned two and the fact they had a biggest rival in Denmark.

Paraguay,as all South Americans,play impressive so far.I'm not concerned with their draw vs. New Zealand,more with the fact they've progressed from the probably the weakest group. Key midfielder is suspended.

I think,this will be a tight game and not so sure about backing Paraguay in 90 mins.On the other hand,odd on them to qualify is a misery.Hm...My gambles have been a pure money wasting lately,but will try once again. Simply addicted.

Spain played group games under their full potential, did just enough to secure 1st place.The things that worry me here are Torres who's completely out of form and Del Bosque who left his wingers on the bench in the previous game and adjusted Spain's play to Chile! (Miss to use advantage over 3 defenders in Chile's back line.) I'm really scary of his football philosophy,to be honest.Beside that,Spain looks as one of the top favorite to win WC (beside Brazil and Germany,I'd say).

Portugal has a tough defense,13 clean sheets in last 15 games.Not so great opponents though.They played a quiet game vs. Brazil and chose to face Spain (I still don't understand why).They look fine, will be as always when play Spain fully motivated,but...In my opinion,class difference is obvious.And in such type of a games,mental strength (can easily imagine CR to get red) will have important role.

Maybe my bet is not so based on the facts,but really can not imagine any other outcome than Spain's win in a regular time.

About Serbia. I think it's fair to say we're level of Denmark, for example. Chile, Paraguay, Mexico, USA, second class of world football. Thursday's World Cup round-up

An attempt by a New Zealand lawmaker to create a public holiday to mark the achievements of the country's team in the World Cup team has been rejected by the nation's parliament.
Labour Party minister Trevor Mallard tried to introduce a bill that would have created a public holiday after New Zealand's final group match against Paraguay on Thursday. 
The All Whites can seal their place in the last 16 with a win, and even a draw may be good enough. 
The game will be shown in the early hours of the morning in New Zealand and Mallard said loyal football fans deserved a day off as a reward for supporting their team.

New Zealand - Slovakia, NO BET

I'm not sure about this one. New Zealand will park the bus in front the goal and will try to frustrate Slovakians. Best they have is few players from English Championship, main threats will be set pieces.

Slovakia is a kind of mystery for me, but fell they're far below Italy and Paraguay. If they don't score in the first 20 minutes, could have a plenty of problems. Also, game will be played on 1500m above the sea level and will be hard to breath and keep the pace.

I don't like to bet on under, but 2.20 on under 2 looks really tempting. Also, wouldn't exclude a possibility of a draw, 0-0 for example. Will decide later and post it.

Portugal is very good side. Look at their first eleven. Results from qualifications usually are not a good indicator. I predict a good tournament for them and think they can even eliminate Spain in a possible 1/16 match.

Ivory Coast is, in my opinion, most exaggerated selection in SA. Drogba will probably start the game, although he’s far from be fit, since this is a game for 2^nd place in the group. They have Sven Goran Eriksson on the bench and I almost have no doubt they won’t pass the group.

I would like to see better odds (based on IC exaggeration), but 2.30 is totally acceptable.

I already wrote my opinion about Brazil. My main favorites for a trophy. Enough.

The truth about Korea is actually nobody knows anything about their potential (which surely isn’t very big). I’ve read in some press, their best player (no way to remember his name) left the country before 5-6 years, came to Serbia and was playing for Bezanija (club who dropped in the second division)! Only sure thing about them is they all would die for the country (maybe a bet on red card could be a nice choice).

It’s first and the easiest game for Brazil and I can’t see a single reason to push to their limits and waste energy. Goals against Korea will hardly be decisive (in case of same points for Br.,Por. and Iv.Coast,goals against Korea would be erased). On the other side, I can see a fanatical fight from Koreans and think they can resist first half.

Former Germany captain Lothar Matthaus says his country have almost no chance of winning the World Cup in South Africa.
Matthaus, who won won an incredible 150 caps in a long international career, is unimpressed with the standard of coach Joachim Loew's squad.
"The problem with Germany is that they have no stars, no-one with any individual brilliance, now that Ballack is out," said Matthaus. "And their preparations have hardly been optimal."

Australia forward Harry Kewell concedes that facing Germany on the first weekend will be an uphill battle for the Socceroos.
"Let's face it, we've probably hit the hardest team in the World Cup to come up against, especially first off the bat," said Kewell. 

Winning the World Cup would still not be enough for United States forward DaMarcus Beasley to make a real name for himself in his home state of Indiana.
Michael Jackson and the Jackson family are the Hoosier state's most famous sons and former Rangers player Beasley admitted that realistically not even lifting the World Cup trophy would see him make a similar name for himself.
"Even if we won the World Cup I still wouldn't be that big a thing," said Beasley.

England captain Steven Gerrard has surprisingly picked out sprint star Usain Bolt as a big inspiration.

Paraguay have laughed off reports that Oscar Cardozo could be out of the World Cup and declared the striker could yet make next week's opening match against Italy.
Cardozo, who scored 36 goals for Benfica last season, has been struggling with an ankle injury and has been training separately from the rest of the Paraguay squad.
"I must clarify that Oscar Cardozo is not out of the World Cup, as has been implied in some media," said Paraguay team doctor Manuel Aguilar.
"What's more, neither has he been ruled out of the first game."
