Norwich – Leicester

Despite the defeat in previous round (Hull at home, 0-2), Norwich have been noticing an encouraging start of the season. Sixth spot and play-off zone are something that guarantee they’ll be fully motivated (as long as Premiership dream lasts). Against Hull they were much better rival, but in last 10 minutes conceded twice and noticed very unlucky defeat. My assumption is they’ll be very eager to bounce back tonight. Midfielder Surman and defender Nelson are still out, while defenders Whitbread and Smith have returned to the full training.

Leicester’s current shape is at least embarrassing. Instead play-off spot, they’re keeping the bottom of the table with just 5 points of 8 games. On the road just a single point and goal difference 4-13, after they suffered real humiliation at Portsmouth (1-6). Sousa’s manager position isn’t stabile at all. Seems he couldn’t imply the system with tight defense that was successfully bringing results in Swansea. Oppositely, Leicester’s back line looks vulnerable, conceding large amounts lately. Chairman Mandaric has said he gives his full support to Sousa.  Usually, such statements mean opposite. Players possess enough quality for the top half of the table and certainly don’t enjoy when Portsmouth make a laugh of them. I’m sure Sousa’s departure is very close, maybe even tonight. Defender Miguel Vitor is suspended after red card.

Leicester won’t be relegated, that’s sure, but better results will come when they make a cut. Currently they look like a sinking boat. Hosts believe their Saturday’s defeat was a robbery, now are preparing a strong response.

Millwall - Coventry

Millwall started the returning campaign in a great manner. Defeated in the first round Bristol City on the road (3-0) and home win vs. ex-Premier Hull (4-0). Then scored on Elland Road (Leeds), but managed to concede three times. However, they bounced back in Carling and defeated Premier contender ‘Boro 2-1 (that was 4th win in five matches). They made a fortress of home ground and The Den is not a place where other teams like to go. Boss Kenny Jackett will probably set an unchanged squad. Only absentees are defender Tony Craig and striker Shaun Batt.

.

Coventry also made an encouraging start. Two home wins (Portsmouth 2-0 and Derby 2-1) and away draw (Watford 2-2). Against Watford came back from 2 goals down, but against Derby were also struggling and could have lost as well. As always, their main problem is games on the road where collect much less points. For this game, boss Aidy Boothroyd can not count on one important player, striker Lucas Jutkiewicz. Although Coventry are still unbeaten, they haven’t won last six away games (3 draws and 3 lost).

As long as Millwall can smell Premiership, they’ll be very strong and dangerous. Especially at the Den (last season, in League One, just a single defeat). Coventry are a decent side, they will probably finish in the top side of the table, maybe even make a threat for a play-off spot, but Millwall away is simply too much. Home win.

New season - some changes

New season is on the corner, Championship and lower English leagues start next weekend, Premiership one week later.

There will be some changes on my blog that should bring more quality.

1) My bets will be more specific, 1-10 staking plan and updated record (full analyzes as always). Detailed statistics will be noticed in the online document. I’ll be able to share it with all interested. (Thanks for the help, Ben.)

2) Make e-mail subscription. You’ll get the picks in the mailbox without any effort, I’ll have a picture about the number of permanent readers. Also, I’ll try to make some benefits for the subscribers (vouchers, free bets and such things), but it’s too early for promises about that.

3) Daily gossip column will be removed. I haven’t seen too much interest in it. Blog traffic is the same with it, or without it. Same applies for detailed game reports. Also, removing these two category will allow you to get only picks (and analyzes) in your mailbox.

4) I’ve been trying to make a deal about sponsorship. Benefit would be more quality contents, bonuses, live odds, maybe some free vouchers… But, all depends from the blog traffic. Even without that, it wouldn’t be a tragedy.

5) I’m not sure have I mentioned this. As a way of advertising at Football Betting (and More) you can send me your posts by mail to publish it here. If you’re new, or simply need a bigger traffic. Some quality level would be required, however.

What you guys think?

I would appreciate any ideas, suggestions, opinions…

Thanks for visiting and wish you a good betting season.
