Worthless Sunday

Lille were playing with the nerves, managed at the end to concede twice and ruin the handicap. I have been digging in today's games and couldn't find too many pointers. In Italy, Torino play without 9 players, home win drop from 2.15 to 1.70. It can be a clear home win, but also can be a  game for the bookies. No bet for me.

In Spain Osasuna host Real Madrid as a clear favorite!? 1.70 for a home win! Real's players are already on holiday, four defeats in a row, 15 goals conceded! Osasuna defeated Barca at Camp Nou and I can't find a logic to loose today and relegate. Barca don't care about league games, why should Real? Transfer market? Don't think so. Home win is probable, but I've already burnt my fingers on Spain and Osasuna. My opinion about Primera is the same as opinion about Puyol's two reactions in CL final (duels with Ronaldo and Van der Sar). No bet.

Brazil 1

Santos - Corinthians

Only bet for Sunday. Brazil's big derby. The Corinthians' boss announced yesterday that he'll rest some of 11 main players, thinking only about the second and decisive match against Vasco in the Brazil Cup (1-1 first game away). Bookies reacted quickly and decrease the odds. On the other side, Santos look in a nice shape, trashing Fluminense in the last round at Maracana 4-1. Play attacking, scored eight goals in the first three games. I don't believe in that "rest best players in derby games" stories and go for goals, instead the home win. Pinnacle offers nice 2.00. Over.

That's it. Will be back tomorrow with Norway and Iceland.

Cheers.

A quick view on Monday

I stay behind my words and still think it was about the pride (Barcelona-Osasuna). Real M lost at home too, against Mallorca (1-3), but they weren't my concern. Both giants got a lesson from dignity from English four. Man.Utd., Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, although they didn't need the points, won their games and finish the season with a style. That's why Primera never will be Premier.

.

Final at Wembley starts at 4pm. Burnley and Sheffield United contest a £60million winner-takes-all showdown for a place in the Premier League, in the richest club game in world football. The Clarets have full squad available, while Blades have a few injury concerns with doubts over Darius Henderson (Achilles), Jamie Ward (hamstring) and John-Joe O'Toole (ankle). Bookmakers learnt from their mistakes and this time don't underestimate Burnley, offering about 2.60 for their win (against Reading on the road, odds were about 4.70). United is the most consistent team in Championship, Burnley is mentally the strongest. Once again, I give a small advantage to Burnley and follow my instinct with a gamble bet. 888sport offers 2.70. Burnley to win.

Sevilla - Real

More than disturbing results, yesterday. Looking for a recover. Because, my sundays start around the noon, I've already missed about a half of offer for today. Considering late kick-offs, have some suggestions. So, here we go, first.

,

Sevilla still holds the third position, but eleven points gap has melted and Valencia is just a point behind (unlucky lost a win in 85. min., -Barcelona 2-2). Hosts have three defeats in a row. First Getafe took three points from home ground (0-1), then two away defeats. Unlucky one on Mestalla against Valencia, 1-3, then disaster on Camp Nou, 0-4. Andres Iniesta scored in third minute and the rest of the game was pure finishing the job by Messi and company. They have to wake up, 'cause giant is coming at Sanchez Pizjuan.Their first meeting (in Madrid) finished sensationally 3-4, with Sevilla's best performance this season. If they can repeat nearly that level of play will be closer to victory. No injury problems, best eleven will play.

,

Real is 7 points behind Barca. Their calculation is simple. Three points tonight, then beat Barca at Vincente Calderon. That would be just a point less and four rounds before the end. Six wins in a row give them a hope they can reach the title. In the previous round they hosted Getafe and instead routine execution, we had an opportunity to watch a real drama. Getafe was two times in lead, then in 89. min. Casquero missed the penalty kick for 3-2 and probable win (tried to humiliate Casillas). That stupidity punished Higuain in 93th minute (got a nickname San Higuain) for extension of title run. Tonight will face Sevilla who haven't beat in the last seven games on Sanchez Pizjuan. Oposite from tonight's hosts, visitors are in excellent mood and full of confidence. Will be without Pepe, who got 10 games(!) suspension after the savage behavior.

,

I'm not sure which side is closer to win, but both desperately need three points. That fact guarantee an open game. Both sides have better attack than defence (especially Sevilla). My money goes on goals. Expekt offers 1.80. Over.

,

Two more little later.

European review

Barcelona maintained their six-point lead over Real Madrid, who bounced back from their midweek thumping, while Inter Milan remain seven points clear in Italy.
In Germany, the title race is still a tight affair, with table-toppers Hertha Berlin four points clear of three of the chasing pack.
Elsewhere, Lyon continue to wobble in Ligue 1, AZ Alkmaar look uncatchable in Holland while Aberdeen closed the gap on third-placed Hearts in the SPL.
Primera Liga
Real Madrid got back to winning ways after they were humiliated by Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League as they smashed Athletic Bilbao 5-2 at Estadio San Mames on Saturday, with winter transfer window signing Klaas Jan-Huntelaar among the goals with a brace.
But Barcelona ensured they remain six points above their bitter rivals after two goals from gifted youngster Bojan Krkic handed them victory at Almeria. Elsewhere in Spain on Sunday, Atletico Madrid climbed to fifth with a thrilling success over Villarreal while Sevilla salvaged a 2-2 draw at Malaga.
Serie A
Claudio Ranieri's Juventus put pressure on leaders Inter Milan after they cruised to a 4-1 victory over Bolognaon Saturday. But Inter restored their seven-point advantage 24 hours later as a brace from Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw off Fiorentina.
AC Milan crushed sorry Siena 5-1 as a double from Filippo Inzaghi took him past 300 career goals, Palermo brushed struggling Lecce aside with a 5-2 victory while Chievo moved three points away from the drop zone with an impressive 3-0 win at Lazio.
Bundesliga
Hertha Berlin still sit pretty at the summit after on-loan Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin netted the only goal of the game against Bayer Leverkusenon Saturday. Bayern Munich, though, kept within four points of the leaders with a convincing 3-0 success at VfL Bochum.
Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund played out an eight-goal thriller, Borussia Monchengladbach and Arminia Bielefeld boosted their respective survival hopes while Hoffenheim continue to fall. And on Sunday, Martin Jol's Hamburg kept their title hopes alive.

Bordeaux sit fourth after their 2-1 win against Nice, struggling Sochaux shocked AS Nancy while it was heartbreak for Toulouse as Igor Lolo's 90th minute strike handed Monaco a 3-2 victory.
Eredivisie
AZ Alkmaar remain 11 points clear at the top of the table after they recorded a fourth straight league victory with success at FC Utrechton Sunday. But Steve McClaren's second-placed FC Twente refuse to give up chase as they downed Willem II 2-0.
Ajax saw off De Graafschap 3-0 with Luis Suarez bagging a brace, FC Volendam climbed off the foot of the table, Heerenveen hammered Sparta Rotterdam 5-1 while Feyenoord edged a 1-0 win against PSV Eindhoven.
