Birmingham are finishing very successful season for them. However, they’re in a bad run of results with eight games without a win and four consecutive draws at home. In previous round, lost a derby game vs. Villa, despite very good display. If they fail in last two games, theoretically could lost four places. Side-back, Stephen Carr, is banned for one match in light of the gestures he made at Aston Villa. Striker Christian Benitez may feature after a six-game absence.

Burnley booked their ticket to Championship long time ago. Their Premiership story came to end when Owen Coyle left the club. Everything after that have been just torturing the fans. Chairman Barry Kilby said, thankfully to this season they won’t have any financial worries in next 10 years. If it was a target, ok then. Regarding their performances, without Coyle they’re just an average Championship squad. With new manager, Brian Laws (have picked up just 7 points from a possible 48 since he took the charge) they’re even less than that. They stopped winning at home, while on the road have 16 defeats of 18 games (goal difference 16-50)! Haven’t noticed a clean sheet in 25 games and need to concede against Brum to equal Wimbledon's Premier League record from 11 years ago. Defender Clarke Carlisle is absent again. This is the last home game for Birmingham and I think after unfair defeat in derby game, they’ll want to put some effort and play for the fans. Difference in quality are big as well. Burnley will play for the scouts and I can’t see any improving. Bet is Birmingham -1 ah @ 1.92 Pinnacle.

Palace have two games to play. In the last round will face direct opponent Sheffield Wednesday on the road. So, a win tonight would leave them in Championship. In last 9 home games have 2 wins and 7 defeats. Strikers Alan Lee and Calvin Andrews are back in contention after injury, left-back Lee Hills is out. Palace are unbeaten in the club's last four matches against West Brom.
The Baggies are second away team in the leagues (a point less than Newcastle) and are undefeated in last ten league games (2 draws, 8 wins)! The problem is they’re theoretically second and their motivation could be a cause of problems tonight. Few reasons for professional attitude. Di Matteo said he’ll field his strongest available team (not a single reason to believe him though). First game in the season they lost at home 0-1, Palace scored from only chance. They would like to reach Leicester’s record of 92 points (have 89 now) from 2003. The last but not the least, this is Championship not Serie A. Well, reasons are not so strong, but made this odd acceptable in my opinion. Jerome Thomas won’t play and I couldn’t find anyone else who is 100% out.

Gillingham made a first class surprise defeating Leeds last Saturday, scored three times for the first half an our (3-2 at the end). They made a distance from a relegation line (3 points with 3 rounds left) and can play with little less pressure. Good thing is in last two rounds, they’ll host the Saints (who gave up from play-off) and will visit Wycombe (will probably relegate till then) at the last day. So, they have very good chance to stay in the league. On the other hand, they’re the worst travelers in the third tier, noticed just six points (six draws) of 21 games on the road with shocking goal difference 13-44 and didn’t score in six of last seven! Skipper Barry Fuller faces surgery to repair a broken nose and is likely to miss out, defender Gowling serves the suspension and another defender Richards with a broken toe is long-term absentee.
Very difficult season for Town. Before the season start, they announced a battle for promotion. Instead that, they were stuck for the bottom most of the time. Players reacted badly on Keano’s hard temper, he has been accusing them for having no heart… They’re in the middle and should feel a relief as the nightmare is over. Mentioned Keano is without striker David Healy and midfielder Carlos Edwards. Town have scored on average every 12.83 attempts on goal this season (worst conversion rate in the league).

Rochdale also secured the promotion in the previous round. But, oppositely for County their run of results looks like a torturing. Before Saturday’s win (Northampton, 1-0 at home), they had four games without a win, three defeats and a draw, goal difference 0-8! In last two away games, noticed two defeats, vs. play-off chasers Chesterfield 0-2 and shocking one vs. bottom side Torquay 0-5! They reached the promotion first time after 69 years (or first time after 1969., not sure). Knowing the mentality of players in lower divisions they probably spent more time in the pubs than on the pitch training. However, boss Keith Hill has a choice to name the best squad and face a defeat, or to put fringe players, defend all game and try to spoil the celebration of home fans. I think he’ll choose the second solution.
Oldham improved their results and they look safe with six points more than 21st Tranmere. They have just one defeat (Huddersfield, 0-2 away) of last five games and are undefeated in last three. But, their main problem is scoring goals. Oldham won 2-1 in last round against unmotivated Carlisle, but in previous six games scored just two goals. In the remaining rounds, beside S’ton, they’ll face Southend at home, Yeovil on the road and Charlton at home which means just a nightmare scenario could push them down to League Two. Boss Dave Penney will have all players available at St Mary's.
